About Cru & Epic

This Fall, I'll be interning with Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru for short), a ministry focused on building spiritual movements worldwide to reach people for Christ. More specifically, I'll be with Epic Movement, a branch of Cru aimed to reach students through the lenses of Asian-American culture. Ask me questions!

Q: Where will you be interning?
I'll be located at the Umass Amherst campus, my alma mater.

Q: How long will the whole internship last?
The internship will be for one full year - from Aug 2011 to July 2012.

Q: Why did you decide to intern with Campus Crusade for Christ?
You're welcome to read my prayer letter. The short answer is, I believe there's a need to bring the message of the Gospel to every college student because God desires to have a relationship with each one. College is a critical time for students to make personal decisions, so it's important to build up a body of strong believers. Once students are done with college, they'd be able to take the message of the Gospel to the rest of the world.

Q: How can I learn more about your internship?
The best method is meeting up with me this summer! If you'd like to hear more, email me and I'd love to meet up! Otherwise, you can just approach me and ask me. Or Facebook message me. Just any way I can know that you're interested.

Q: How can I help?
As part of the Christian body, we have the privilege of looking after one another. One important way to support me is by prayer. I will be using this blog to share ministry updates and prayer requests. Another need is through finances. Our ministry is completely dependent on the support of friends, families and churches. These contributions fund our ministries. I'd love to have you join my support team. You can go here to give. Any amount will help me reach my main goal!

Q: Will you be updating throughout the year?
Yup, one way of doing that is through this blog. Sign up for email updates over on the right-hand column. Another method of keeping up is by joining my update list. If you send me a quick email, I will gladly put you on my update list.

Q: What is the difference between Cru and Epic?
Great question! Cru is the umbrella ministry and Epic is one of its branch ministries. Epic focuses on reaching people through the uniqueness of Asian-American culture.

Q: Is Epic the only branch ministry of Cru?
Nope, Epic is among many other branch ministries focused on sharing the Gospel in culturally-specific ways. To name a few: Destino focuses on Latino students, Athletes-in-Action for student athletes, Keynote for musicians.

Q: Is it important to have contextualized ministries?
We believe having a contextualized ministry will be more effective in reaching more people for Christ. It also broadens our perspective of God and paints a bigger picture of His plan. He created all these different cultures and relates to every single one of them. My reflection of the Epic East Coast Conference may help give you a specific example of the importance in contextualized ministries.
